Andy Hopkinson and Sharon Malone together form FNS Photography. Both award winning, qualified Master Photographers, between them they have over 25 years of experience. Add to this the passion for their craft and drive to create that "perfect picture" and you have a pretty unbeatable combination.
What began as simply a wedding photography business has evolved very quickly due to demand from our clients. Our ethos of becoming as much or as little involved in your wedding planning as you would like means that often our wedding clients become friends for life and we find ourselves also photographing Christenings, Anniversary parties and family portraits in and around York, Harrogate, Leeds, Wetherby and beyond as the family grows.
Our business has grown rapidly since we started it a few years ago and the growth has been mainly due to word of mouth referrals from our clients. We are constantly pushing the boundaries of our creativity and striving for that "perfect" picture and this has led to us winning many awards from the Master Photographers Association (MPA), British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) & Fujifilm Envisage to name but a few. Due to this we are now one of the most sought after Wedding and Portrait Photographers in the Harrogate, York, Leeds, Yorkshire area and beyond.
What we can do for you
So what do we bring to your wedding day then? Well apart from great wedding photography we also bring a sense of fun! We will gently and seamlessly guide you through your day and capture reportage style moments as they happen. We shoot in a mixed style incorporating some posed pictures (if required) in a classical wedding photography style together with some wedding photojournalism documentary style picture - where we simply photograph events as they unfold.
We invest heavily in the latest and most up to date equipment and using state of the art Nikon Professional digital cameras we are able to capture some magic moments even in the darkest churches/castles/Manor Houses without the intrusion of using flash - that's not to say we don't ever use flash - but there is a time and a place for everything, the skill is knowing when and where!
As a couple ourselves we only work together, this works really well for us as one of us instinctively knows where the other will be and so between us we very rarely miss a moment. We will travel anywhere in the UK and also internationally. Each wedding to us is as special and individual as the couple getting married and each demand the same level of attention from us - whether it is a small intimate affair or a big celebration. For your total peace of mind, we are fully insured and qualified members of the MPA and BIPP. Our sole income is derived from our wedding and portrait photography business so you won't find us unavailable during the week when you need to speak to us as this is not only our weekend job but also our day job!
Our location
We have a beautiful studio set within the landscaped grounds of Heaton House - just 5 minutes drive from the A1 near Boroughbridge. We are ideally located for weddings in and around Yorkshire and frequently photograph weddings at venues such as Hazlewood Castle, Rudding Park, Ripley Castle, Swinton Park, Allerton Castle, Raven Hall Hotel, Monk Fryston Hall, Oulton Hall and Cave Castle.
